CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week we are learning to independently plan the writing of a procedural text.

Students will be going through the writing process of planning, drafting, revising, Peer Feedback (ASK A FRIEND) and publishing.

 

We are focusing on asking a peer to help with improvements that can be made to a procedural text. This will allow students to learn from each other. 


VOCABULARY

AS a peer we are asking the students to provide Constructive Feedback based on the mini conference they have had. 

 

You can say 

-I loved… 

-I like the way you…

-Something you could do next time… 

 

Emphasise the importance of using feedback to revise and improve writing independently. 


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Choose a topic that can be achieved by your child on how to do or make something then allow them to go through the writing process. planning, drafting, revising, peer Feedback (ASK A FRIEND) and publishing.

 

You or a sibling can act as a peer to help with proofreading of the procedural text as well as any recommended improvements .
