Reconciliation Week

This week, Craigieburn Primary School has commemorated Reconciliation Week as a significant moment to acknowledge the history and ongoing impact of displacement on Indigenous families and communities. Through a range of activities, our students have engaged in meaningful learning experiences that highlight the importance of healing and reconciliation in Australia. We have spent time reading and sharing rich texts by local Indigenous authors, which has deepened our understanding of Aboriginal culture, stories, and perspectives.

Class discussions have provided a safe and respectful space for students to explore the meaning and significance of reconciliation, recognising the importance of acknowledging the past and working together for a more inclusive future. Our students have also expressed their reflections and ideas through creative writing and artwork, capturing the spirit of reconciliation in their own unique ways. These works will be shared at our school assembly on Friday, where we will come together as a community to honour this important time and to strengthen our commitment to building a more understanding and united Australia.
