OSHC AT ST ROCH'S

Holiday Fun at OSHC?

During the school holidays we played theme games for each day and constructed arts and crafts. The school holidays began with an Autumn theme. We made healthy fruit kebabs and the children learned how to safely transfer plants into pots. There was a movie excursion the next day. On Thursday the theme was Fantasy, Fun and Fiction where the children made storyboards and we finished jigsaw puzzles.

On Friday Scarlett Puyol made milk shakes and hot chocolate for everyone for the America’s theme. Daniel made a #D model of the White House. On Monday it was Bubbles and Slime. We experimented with ingredients and chemical reactions. The children made amazing patterns on Tie Dye day. The last day was and Easter theme with hunt fun.

We also had fun with badminton, Barbie dolls, basketball, building block towers, capture the flag, card cutouts, chasing games, cricket, dodgeball, Enchanted Forest, footy, fuse beds, Genius Square, God’s eyes, gymnastics, hide and seek, ice hockey, Muffin time, pool, rings, Shopkins, Sky Jo, Sleeping Queens, stay in the square, table soccer, tennis, Uno and 40/40 home.

In week 1 of term 2 we discussed World Safety at Work Day and nuclear power stations for the anniversary of Chernobyl. The child also talked about guide dogs and what sort of breed makes the best dogs to assist people with sight disadvantages. They also showed their knowledge about ANZAC Day. The nation was England (Europe, St George, rain, rugby, cricket, cottages, castles, monarchy, Stonehenge, national animal: lion, national flower: rose). The colouring, drawing and puzzle theme is the culture calendar and Australian waterways. We also had fun with bases, basketball, Beyblades, dress ups, Exploding kittens, food role play, footy, Happy Little Dinosaurs, hockey, jigsaw puzzles, pig families, races, shopping and tennis.
