Grade Six

Term 2 is in full swing, and our Grade 6 students continue embracing new challenges and learning experiences. With a busy schedule ahead, we are excited to see them grow academically, socially, and as leaders of the school.
In English, students are diving into the world of storytelling as they develop their narrative writing skills. They are exploring different elements, including character development, setting, and plot structure, to create engaging and imaginative stories. We can’t wait to read the creative pieces they produce!
This term in Maths, students are working on fractions, decimals, and percentages. They are learning how to convert between them, compare values, and apply their knowledge to real-life situations. This unit helps build strong numeracy skills that will be valuable for future learning and everyday life.
Our integrated topic this term is all about social justice. Students are exploring important issues such as fairness, equality, and human rights, and learning about the impact of social justice movements and how they can contribute to positive change in their communities. This unit encourages critical thinking and empathy, helping students develop a strong sense of responsibility and advocacy.
This term, our Grade 6 students are also involved in interschool sports; they have been put into teams in football, kickball, soccer, T-ball, and netball. These sports allow them to develop new skills, work as a team, and enjoy some friendly competition with other schools.
With plenty of exciting learning experiences and opportunities ahead, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term brings for our Grade 6 students!
