Student Wellbeing

Parent Information Session

Thank you to the parents and carers who attended our Whole School Community Meeting on 21 May 2025. The session was delivered by Ashleigh Van, Community Engagement Officer from Headspace, along with our School Counsellors, Nathan Attard and

Agnes Ryu.

Our speakers shared a wealth of valuable information and strategies with parents, followed by a Q&A session and afternoon tea.

As our school continues to grow and expand, so does the opportunities for us to build a stronger and more connected school community.

We believe that parents and carers play a vital role in supporting student learning, wellbeing, and development both at school and at home.

Our community meetings are a great way for families to stay informed, ask questions, and hear from experts on topics that matter to you and your child’s success.

Your voice, input, and presence are valuable, and together, we can create a supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Let’s continue to work in partnership school and families to give our young people the tools, confidence, and care they need to reach their full potential.

We look forward to seeing more of you at our upcoming events and meetings.

For those who were unable to attend, here is a summary of the key points shared by our guest speakers from Headspace.

Headspace provides early intervention mental health services to young people aged 12–25.

Support is available through Headspace centres, online and phone counselling, vocational services, and school-based programs.

Common issues supported include stress, anxiety, depression, and social challenges.

For more severe or crisis situations, services like Lifeline, Kids Helpline, the Mental Health Access Line, or your local Emergency Department are more appropriate.

  • Encourage seeking help: Speak with a GP, the school, or Headspace.
  • Spend quality time together: Take an interest in their world and activities.
  • Discuss their strengths: Celebrate effort and progress.
  • Build connection: Have regular one-on-one time and model emotional regulation.
  • Normalise mistakes: Use positive language like “You’re not there yet.”
