Since enjoying a hard-earned break during the holidays, students have been settling back into school life and continuing to work towards their personal goals. During our recent Senior School Assembly we celebrated students with 100% attendance in Term 1, Congratulations!

  • Shawn Yang

  • London Rankine

  • Maddison Wright

  • Arabella Murray

  • Cleo Harris

  • Meagan Orr

It’s great to see this level of dedication – keep up the great work!

Reminders:

  • Work Experience is coming up in week 10 – students need to ensure their forms are handed in by the 23rd May deadline! Be sure to seek out a member of the Careers Pathway team or Year Level Leader if you would benefit from support in securing a placement.

  • As we progress into Term 2, it’s important that students continue to adhere to school routines by arriving to class on time, in uniform and prepared for learning. It might be timely to do a quick audit of what stationary has survived Term 1 and organize some replacement pens and note books as needed. Please reach out to your Homegroup teacher or Year Level Leader if you need assistance in this.

VCE:VM Mother’s Day Stall

The year 10 VM students have been busily preparing for Woodmans Hill Secondary College's first ever Mother’s Day Stall on Friday the 9th of May. This has included creating bouquets of flowers, painted pots and coasters, keychains, lolly jars and more! We are excited for their hard work to go towards making the carers in our students’ lives feel special.

Magic Moments Program

It is with great excitement that I share with you our successful Magic Moments applicants for 2025:

  • Maddison Wright

  • London Rankine

  • Amelia Middleton

The students will head off during the June/July holidays on an all expenses paid trip to Sydney to attend the Magic Moments Youth Summit. There will be 20 students from across Ballarat as well as hundreds of student from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. This is funded through the Community Bank Buninyong and we are fortunate to be working with their team to secure an additional position – keep an eye on the Compass Newsfeed for future announcements.

Art Display and Presentation

At the end of Term 1, the Year 10 Art Making and Exhibiting class invited Mrs. Ross and Ms. Hollands to enjoy a display of their concertina artist books. Each student had developed personalized imagery exploring a specific theme for their Mixed Media artwork. Artist statements were written to accompany their display, describing the ideas and meanings underpinning their work as well as descriptions of their aesthetic decisions. These were discussed with the class visitors and each other to help students build confidence in discussing their art with others.

Athletics Carnival

It was great to see students participating enthusiastically and supporting their houses through creative dress ups and cheering!
