Year 9 Report

Keele Hillas

Welcome Back!

It’s been fantastic to see our Year 9 students settle back into Term 2 with energy, positivity, and a strong sense of community. After a well-deserved break, they’ve returned with renewed focus and enthusiasm, ready to make the most of the term ahead.

Year 9 Wellbeing Day – A Day to Reflect and Grow

Early this term, our Year 9s participated in a powerful and engaging Wellbeing Day. This full-day event brought together three fantastic organisations: The Man Cave, The Reach Foundation, and The Rainbow Group. Each group delivered workshops designed to support students’ emotional resilience, self-awareness, and inclusivity.

  • The Man Cave created a safe space for boys to explore themes of masculinity, respect, and personal growth through meaningful conversation and connection.

  • The Reach Foundation unfortunately due to illness could not make it down to us. However, luckily Mrs McClure, Mrs Gepp, Miss Hollands and Miss Hillas were able to create an engaging and meaningful program for our girls. Facilitated by Mrs Gepp they participated in dynamic activities that helped students build confidence, foster empathy, and reflect on the values that guide them.

  • The Rainbow Group led important discussions about identity, acceptance, and creating a school culture where everyone feels seen and supported.

It was a truly meaningful day that encouraged reflection, built stronger relationships, and reminded us all of the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.

Cable Park Excursion – Challenge Accepted!

Adding to the excitement of Term 2 was our unforgettable Cable Park Excursion in Melbourne. Students had the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and take on both the High Ropes Course and the thrilling Water Park Challenge.

From climbing and swinging high above the ground to tackling inflatable obstacles on the water, students showed incredible courage, teamwork, and persistence. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the day was filled with laughter, encouragement, and plenty of splashes!

It was a brilliant day of adventure and fun that brought the cohort closer together and left everyone with some fantastic memories. A massive thank-you to Mrs Gepp for organising the day!

Also, last week we had the opportunity to acknowledged the following students who had 100% attendance in Term 1. Congratulations!
