Cameron Robinson

Hands on Learning celebrated the final day of Term 1 by playing a few rounds of mini golf followed by a sushi lunch in the sunshine at Kirks Reservoir. We had a round indoors and outdoors and then a few of us got to have a turn on the remote controlled speedboats. Mr Robinson believed he came first at both indoors and outdoors, but he was also keeping scores so we are skeptical.
The day ended with an Easter egg hunt (or throw and catch) and back to school for the early dismissal.
Our first week this term, we got straight back into the swing of things. We are currently working on fixing up an area used by the Year 7's. We are revamping the area by fixing up some planters and filling them with new plants, repairing some decking and adding some additional greenery.
We have got some exciting plans coming up including another outing where we will meet up with the Hands on learning crew from Mt Clear College, landscaping the Yarning Circle and more.
Lachlan Ellen joined Hands on Learning this year and as part of his English work he has written the following contribution for our newsletter:
Hi there,
I am part of the Hands On Learning at Woodmans Hill Secondary College for 2025...
What I like about it:
I like doing the woodwork that is part of the program
It teaches me resilience
I get to experience a working environment
Its hard working on using the tools
I met a couple of new people/friends
I am very thankful for being selected in the program and I look forward to school every Friday.
