Home Group Report

Gabi Dumesny

This term in Home Group, students across both Junior and Senior School are diving into the important life skills of resilience, problem-solving, and self-motivation – key qualities for success both in and out of the classroom. Students will participate in discussions and group-based activities designed to build meaningful connections and encourage personal reflection.

Years 7–9 (Junior School): Our junior students are exploring how to build resilience and work through everyday challenges. The program progresses through:

  • Year 7: Introducing coping strategies and positive thinking.
  • Year 8: Developing teamwork and tackling real-world problems.
  • Year 9: Strengthening independence and growing confidence in public speaking.

Years 10–12 (Senior School): Senior students are focusing on self-motivation and preparing for life beyond school. The program progresses through:

  • Year 10: Learning how to bounce back from failure and develop personal motivation.
  • Year 11: Navigating uncertainty, managing stress, and taking ownership of personal growth.
  • Year 12: Preparing for post-school transitions with a focus on emotional intelligence, purpose, and real-world resilience.

We look forward to supporting all students in becoming more resilient, reflective, and ready to face the future with confidence.
