As Term 2 begins, so too does a new unit for each English class.
In Year 7, students have begun their study of Tim Winton's novel Blueback, particularly through the lens of environmentalism.
In Year 8, the focus has become Lois Lowry's novel The Giver, as well as the concept of dystopia more broadly.
In Year 9, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton has come under the microscope, as students discuss concepts around class and belonging.
Some select students have also taken Literature as an elective, and this term will be discussing Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
In Year 10, students have been tasked with exploring personal connections, alongside analysis of, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Mark Haddon.
Students in the Year 10 VM pathway have been working on Creating Texts, specifically focusing on an autobiography of a famous person.
Our VCE Year 11 students have begun a their next Area of Study on Crafting Texts. In English Language, students are focusing on Child Language Acquisition.
Finally, our VCE:VM Year 12 students have been working on the Mother's Day event, and our VCE English students have been working hard on their focus of Writing About Country.
