Ski Camp

Good Afternoon Year 5/6 Students & Families,

As communicated in Term 1 via the APS Newsletter and Compass, we will be providing students in Years 5 and 6 with the opportunity to attend Ski Camp.

The 2025 APS Ski Camp will run from Tuesday 29 July until Friday 1 August at Mount Buller Ski Resort. There are limited places available for students on this camp. If oversubscribed, priority will be allocated on 1) seniority and 2) opportunity and will utilise a ballot system for selection.

With only 44 Year 6 students in 2025 there will be a significant increase in the number of students in Year 5 able to attend. As a result, we encourage Year 5 students to complete the Expression of Interest Form. While there are limited places available for students on this camp it is imperative that we fill all 54 available spaces for the camp to be viable.

The fee for the camp is expected to be around $950. Offers will commence from Wednesday 14 May, with the first payment of $475 due by Wednesday 28 May to secure the place. The second payment of approximately $475 (TBC) will be due by Friday 27 June. The actual amount of the second payment will be advised as it is dependent on individual hire requirement, transport and exact numbers.

The APS Ski Camp relies on parent volunteers for it to be a success. We require on-mountain volunteers who are capable skiers and 1-2 volunteers who are the lodge parents and organise the food preparation and delivery.  Parents are self-funded with costs varying depending on inclusions (usually maximum of $700) .

Parents who wish to attend must also complete an Expression of Interest section on the form. The process for parent selection is based on ensuring a mix of genders, experience, applicable skills, and succession planning

The Expression of Interest forms will be sent home via Compass next week and hard copies will also be sent home with students next Thursday 1 May. These will need to be returned to the school office by Friday 9 May at 9.00am.

The information evening will be on Thursday 1 May from 6:30-7:30pm via WebEx.
