Principal's Report

Welcome to Term 2
It is another very busy term, with many wonderful teaching, learning, sporting, cultural, leadership and wellbeing initiatives planned for our students and staff. Please make sure that you check the calendar for all upcoming events.
Public Holidays – No School
Friday April 25th – ANZAC Day
Thursday May 1st – May Races (Public Holiday for Moyne and Warrnambool)
ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day is a special time of the year, where we reflect on the many sacrifices people have made through their service to our country. We will hold a special ANZAC commemoration assembly on Thursday and then attend and lay a wreath on behalf of the college at the Mortlake service on 25 April.
We encourage all students and families to join us at the former post office (corner Webster and Dunlop Streets) at 9:45am to march and attend the service.
Congratulations to Mrs Harper
We warmly welcome the safe arrival of baby Elsie Harper who arrived on April 9th.
Both Mrs Harper and Elsie are well, and Aubrey is enjoying being a big sister.
We can’t wait to meet little Elsie.
Fun Run - Primary Cross Country
On Thursday the 24th of April, our Primary Students will participate in a Fun Run House Colours Cross Country Session. This fun movement event will take place after our whole school ANZAC commemoration assembly, starting at 2:20pm. Families are welcome to attend this event as a spectator. Students will be encouraged to wear their House Colours, shorts and runners on this day. Students in age groups 10 Years to 12+ Years, who are successful in finishing with the needed qualifying requirements, will represent the school at the District Cross Country on Tuesday May 6th. This day will be held at Noorat.
2026 Student Enrolments
Yes, it is that time of year when we start to prepare for next year’s Prep and Year 7 enrolments.
We are currently preparing for Foundation/Prep 2026 and Year 7 2026 school tours and information session for families. Please promote this to friends and family members you know who have a student’s starting in these year levels in 2026.
Please promote our Open Day (see flyer below) and private personalised school tours can be made with myself by calling the College on 5599 2204. We will be sharing it on our Facebook page and website in the coming days, please feel free to share and forward on to extended family members or friends. If you have a child starting school next year, please come along, we love having current and new families join us. You are welcome to collect an enrolment pack from the office and return this as early as possible, as this assists us with sorting our numbers nice and early.
Mortlake College Open Day
We will be holding an Open Morning and community connection breakfast on Wednesday April 30th. This is an amazing opportunity to meet with all families and staff as we share together the innovative and exciting opportunities that Mortlake College has to offer.
Families who are interested in enrolling their child at Mortlake College in 2026 will receive enrolment packs and provided personalised tours with the school principal.
Current families will be able to explore our valued learning sessions.
This morning will be busy and enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to seeing lots of families – new and existing – at this event.
Parent Payments
Thank you to all parents who are up to date with Parent Payments or on a plan. Your contributions make a remarkable difference to our school and the programs/resources we offer. Please be familiar with the Parent Payment Policy as all extra curricula activities are offered on a user pay basis. We will ensure families are aware of all extra curricula activities well in advance to give you an opportunity to budget for these events and activities.
We would appreciate as many payments as possible finalising 2025 Parent Payments ASAP.
