With the many changes happening in the NDIS space, it's important to have the right wording that will give you the most flexibility with your child's plan

Stated versus Flexible Supports for your child’s NDIS Plan

Stated Supports:

Stated supports are specific descriptions, referring in detail, often with specific items, services, or providers.

The funding for stated supports can only be used for the support as described in the NDIS plan. You cannot swap the funding to buy a different support or a different version of the stated item without NDIA approval. There is limited flexibility with stated supports.

Described Supports (often referred to as flexible supports):

Described supports are described more generally, allowing for more flexibility in how you use the funding. You have more freedom to choose the types of supports and services that best meet your child’s needs and goals.

If you would like more information about this and some ideas for wording, please see Libby  at school on Mondays or Katie and Libby on Thursdays or book in an appointment through the front office.
