Maths Talent Quest

At Karoo Primary School, we are committed to nurturing student excellence and providing rich opportunities for all learners to thrive. Through targeted programs, extension opportunities, and a strong focus on critical and creative thinking, we empower our high ability students to explore their potential and develop a lifelong love of learning. Below is a list of programs currently supporting high abilities at Karoo.

Maths Talent Quest

If your child has shown interest in the Maths Talent Quest (MTQ) this year, a parent letter was recently sent home with your child, along with a Student Tip Sheet and a Student Checklist (these are also located in the Resources section on the compass event).  Participation in the MTQ is a voluntary enrichment opportunity and requires a high level of independent learning, as well as ongoing support and encouragement at home. This may include helping your child plan their investigation, manage time effectively, and access materials or resources needed for their project.  To confirm your child's participation, please click 'Consent' on Compass by Friday 16th May.  By doing so, you acknowledge the commitment involved and your willingness to support your child throughout their MTQ journey.  We look forward to seeing the creative and inspiring projects our students will produce! 

 As MTQ projects are predominantly completed at home, an online Parent Information Session will be held in the coming weeks to provide further guidance and answer any questions.

To help students stay on track, weekly MTQ support sessions will be held during school time. These sessions will offer structured time for planning, feedback, and progress check-ins.
