Greetings from the Year 5/6 camp at The Summit in Trafalgar! We’re having an incredible time surrounded by nature, challenging ourselves with exciting activities, and building stronger friendships across our cohorts. From high ropes and giant swings to team challenges and campfire nights, every moment is sure to be filled with fun, laughter, and learning. The weather has been kind thus far, the food is sure to be great, and the spirit of adventure is alive in everyone. We can’t wait to share our stories and memories when we get back!
Congratulations to Hugh Sharpe for an outstanding achievement in placing 7th at the State Swimming Carnival! Competing at such a high level is no small feat, and his hard work, dedication, and perseverance have truly paid off. Hugh’s determination and sportsmanship are an inspiration to his peers, and this impressive result is something to be incredibly proud of. It was so wonderful to hear the cheers and applause as the children heard of his achievements – such a testament to the outstanding sportsmanship on display here at FNPS. Well done, Hugh!
Last week’s Colour Run was an unforgettable explosion of fun, energy, and vibrant colour! The Brunswick Street Oval came alive with laughter and excitement as students raced through clouds of colour and slime; celebrating fitness and community spirit. A heartfelt thank you goes to Nicole Mills, Andrea Tonkin, our dedicated staff, and the incredible army of volunteers who made this event the special event it was. Your hard work, planning, and enthusiasm ensured a safe and joyful experience for every child, and we are so grateful for your dedication to creating such a special day for our students.
Even more exciting—thanks to everyone’s amazing fundraising efforts, we’ve reached our $30K target! That means Brad will be getting slimed at this Friday afternoon’s School Assembly—don’t miss it!
Last Thursday and Friday, Joe and I had the pleasure of attending the 2025 Yarra Darebin Principal's Network Conference; a fantastic opportunity for professional growth and connection with fellow school leaders. The conference featured inspiring and thought-provoking presentations from renowned speakers including Bruce Armstrong, Matthew Sexton, and Dale Sidebottom. Each speaker brought unique insights into leadership, wellbeing, and innovative practices in education, leaving us energised and full of fresh ideas to bring back to our school community. It was a valuable and motivating experience that reinforced our shared commitment to continuous improvement and student success.
