SRC Term 2 Plan: House Mascot Project 

This term, the SRC is leading an exciting project to begin developing our official House mascots! Students will be involved in designing mascots that represent the spirit and values of their House. The competition is open to all students, and selected designs will be judged and displayed around the school. While the official Essendon Primary House mascots are still in development, this competition will help shape them by including student ideas. We’ll celebrate the winning entries at the end of the term. 

Timeline at a Glance

Week 3 – Project launch & team formation

Week 4 – Drawing competition begins + House Lunch & promotion

Week 5 – House teams submit mascot names, drafts & values

Week 6 – Drawing competition continues + flag planning begins

Week 7 – Judging of student mascot designs + flag discussion + House Lunch

Week 8 – Winners chosen & designs prepared for display

Weeks 9–10 – Prep for mascot launch (posters, slides, newsletter)

Week 11 – Mascot Launch Assembly! 

• Winning student designs announced
• Designs displayed around the school
• Celebration in the newsletter and on school socials
