2025 Essendon Primary School Cross Country Event
On Tuesday 6th of May, all of our Year 3/4 and 5/6 students travelled to Aberfeldie Park to compete in our first ever offsite Cross Country course. The sun was shining and it was a great day to be outdoors cheering everyone on in House Spirit!
The students looked fantastic in their House colours and the camaraderie was nothing short of impressive.
The 8/9/10yrs students ran a course of 2km, while the 11yrs and 12/13yrs ran a 3km course. It was a long distance to cover, but everyone did an amazing job completing the course and earning points for their Houses.
Thank you so much to our parent volunteers who generously gave up their time to support our program. Without you, the day would not have run as smoothly as it did.
A big congratulations goes out to students who chose to run at a competitive pace, with the following students placing in their events:
9/10yrs girls 2km | 1st: Alessandra T 2nd: Mia H 3rd: Alice G |
9/10yrs boys 2km | 1st: Grayson G 2nd: Harvey B 3rd: Raphael L |
11yrs girls 3km | 1st: Tamsin M 2nd: Rosie R 3rd: Marley M |
11yrs boys 3km | 1st: Lachlan W 2nd: Jack P 3rd: Milan J |
12/13yrs girls 3km | 1st: Victoria G 2nd: Ryanie J 3rd: May H |
12/13yrs boys 3km | 1st: Dean P 2nd: Lenny M 3rd: Alex C |
The Top 6 students from each race will be invited to compete against neighbourhood schools in Week 5 Tuesday 20th May, in the Essendon District Cross Country (same venue). We wish all our competitors the very best.
The winning House will be announced on the next whole school assembly!
Whether you enjoyed a walk/jog in the park, or chose to run at a competitive race, (or gave it your ALL in the end-of-event House Dance-off) EPS were incredibly proud of all participants showing up and supporting each other on the day. Well done, everyone!
