ANZAC Day Service at Halliday Park
A group of our Year 6 students proudly represented St James at the ANZAC Day service held at Halliday Park. It was a very busy and moving event, and our students showed great leadership throughout. A special mention goes to Emerson, who read so professionally and with such confidence – well done! It was also terrific to see other St James students involved, representing organisations such as Scouts and community groups. We're proud of everyone who took part in honouring our ANZACs. A big thank you to the families of the students who set their alarms nice and early to allow the students to attend.
Year 4 Eucharist Reflection and Breadmaking Day
Last Friday, Year 4 students engaged in a meaningful Breadmaking Day as part of their preparation for the upcoming Eucharist. This hands-on experience allowed students to delve into the deeper significance of the Eucharist, particularly focusing on the symbolism of bread. They explored how bread represents nourishment, unity, and the body of Christ in the sacrament.
After baking together, the class shared the freshly made bread, fostering a sense of community and reinforcing the themes of sharing and togetherness central to the Eucharist. This activity not only deepened their understanding but also provided a tangible connection to the ritual they will soon partake in.
A big thank you to Miss Lamendola and Mrs. Flintoff for their guidance and support throughout this reflective journey. We look forward to celebrating the Year 4 Eucharist on May 17th.
