RESIDENTIAL

This week is National Boarders Week and on Wednesday evening it was our annual dorm versus dorm challenge and it was a very close tie, so, for a tie breaker we asked the two top dorms to summarise what boarding means to them and how we spent National Boarders Week.

After much deliberation the winning dorm was HAYWARD, followed very closely in second place was Stirling, although they had declared themselves the winners.

STIRLING dorms response

This week is National Boarding Week. To celebrate, our generous residential staff offered a night full of dorm vs dorm challenges that required each dorm to demonstrate the teamwork and dedication of their homes away from home. We were challenged with activities including Tractor Building, Wheelbarrow Races, Rob the Nest, Tug of War and Calculated Ball Rolling to see who would come out on top. All students showed their determination and grit and two dorms in particular showcased immaculate performance- Stirling and Hayward. Although these challenges seemed like they were just a bit of fun on a Wednesday night for the boarding students here at Harvey Ag, it really encouraged us to take a step back and look at how lucky we are here. There are many reasons to love boarding- having residential, cleaning and kitchen staff that show you so much care that you feel like you have extra parents, being in a comfortable environment surrounded by friends that end up like family, and having the opportunity to build independence and key social skills, training us to become the best versions of ourselves that we can be. The sense of community and the bonds between the staff and students in our school is strong. Each and every student should be proud to be an Aggie at Harvey Ag. Sincerely, Stirling Dorm, Winners of Harvey Ag Boarding Week Championship 2025 Stirling.
