Principal's Views

The first two weeks of the term are off to a fabulous start!
Most students have returned energised and with stories of fun and relaxation from the holidays.
Mandy remains on leave for Term 2 and I have been reappointed to the Acting Principal position. I am honoured to continue to lead the school in this important role. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Staffing updates
Chantal, one of our Literacy and Early Years Leaders, commenced family leave this week and will shortly welcome a new member to her family. We wish them all the best as they navigate this time and look forward to meeting the new baby.
We welcomed Kanu to the EVPS team to teach 2AP whilst Aimee is on leave for the term.
We welcomed back Kaitlyn from family leave. Kaitlyn is teaching in 4ME on a Monday and 2MC on a Tuesday.
Foundation 2026 (prep) Information evening
Last night we had our prep info evening. We had 32 family registrations with 35 adult attendees. The feedback from the session was extremely positive and it was lovely to meet some of the newest members of our community.
As a zoned government school, enrolments are accepted based on our designated neighbourhood boundary. In-zone students are guaranteed a place, while out-of-zone applications are considered based on availability and Department of Education guidelines.
Families outside our zone are encouraged to apply, and applications will be assessed in line with our enrolment capacity.
For more details on the enrolment process visit the enrolment page on our website.
Save the dates
We have a couple of curriculum days coming up:
Monday 12th May
Friday 6th June
There will also be a student free day for the student led conferences on Wednesday 28th June. On this day you will attend for a 15 minute conference with your child to discuss their achievements in the first half of the year. More information is to follow.
AToSS (Attitude to School Survey)
Every year during Term 2 the Department of Education assists schools to deliver the survey to gain an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. More information is to follow.
Seesaw
If you haven’t logged into Seesaw yet, you are missing great updates from the classroom and specialist teachers. There are video updates from students, exciting photos and a window into the world of what’s going on in the classroom. This is one of the ways we connect you to the learning of your child/ren and strengthen the partnership between home and school.
If you need help logging in, please speak to the classroom teacher.
Swimming Program
We are very excited to announce the Term 2 Swimming Program for Year 1, 4 & 5 students. A Victorian Government initiative and funding has been provided for the delivery of quality swimming and water safety education for all students by the time they complete primary school. This includes being able to swim 50 metres.
Winter Uniform – reminder to dress for cooler weather.
We have introduced a Puffer Jacket to the EVPS uniform which is now available at PSW website.
As the temperature drops and winter approaches, it's time to dust off those winter uniforms! At EVPS, we take pride in our school uniform and encourage all students to wear it with pride.
Wearing the winter uniform not only keeps students warm and comfortable during the chilly months but also fosters a sense of unity and belonging within our school community. It also helps maintain a professional and focused atmosphere for learning.
We kindly ask all parents and guardians to ensure that their children are dressed appropriately in the winter uniform each day. If you need any assistance or have questions about the uniform guidelines, please don't hesitate to reach out to the school office.
The 2024 Annual Report will be presented on the night of the next School Council Meeting, 20th May at 5.30pm. If you would like to attend please email the school attention to Angela Lawson at epping.views.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
