School Council President Report Term 2

School Council has found its rhythm for 2025.

Amid strong achievements at a macro level, it is pleasing to see the School continuing to evolve with a number of innovations being driven by our students.  In 2025 our School Council meetings now commence with a presentation from our Junior School Councillors which is a great way to start our meetings.  It is important that we have the students' voice represented to inform and shape decisions.  Thanks to Poppy and Mariam from 6R for representing their Junior School Council so enthusiastically and articulately.

From a business perspective, on 14 May the School Council approved the final 2025 budget.  The Leadership team runs the school efficiently to optimize outcomes across the spectrum and the 2025 budget has clear links to the School’s strategic focus areas around literacy, numeracy and wellbeing.  The School Council approved the first two curriculum days for 2026 to provide clarity for families around the start of 2026.  These are important days for our teaching staff to learn, prepare and report to the community.

Our OSHC team continues to provide a strong contribution to the school and is well subscribed.  In addition to the popularity, our team have bought in new and updated policies to ensure the highest standards of compliance and safety.

I have enjoyed being in and around the school frequently during the start of term 2 and thank our students, leaders, teachers and families for the positive culture and friendly environment that our community has created.
