The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) has rated our school facilities as ‘well below poor’.

Wales Street Primary School Council has submitted a proposal to Kat Theophanous MP, Labor Member for Northcote, seeking Victorian Government funding for long-overdue urgent upgrades to our school facilities.

Now we need your help to show politicians that these upgrades matter to our community by signing this change.org petition.

Upgrades we are seeking funding for

We are hoping to convince politicians to commit to investing in Stage 2 of our Wales Street Primary School Future Redevelopment Plans.

We would use this funding to:

Build a full-sized gymnasium and multipurpose performing arts space for whole-school events and community activities
Improve accessibility for all students and staff, including a new library with lift access to the second storey in the Speight Street Building
Replace obsolete portable classrooms with larger more flexible classrooms that support modern teaching practices and student wellbeing
Upgrade to a Flexi-Pave outdoor basketball court and increase shade, improving safety and reducing injuries from the uneven abrasive asphalt
Resolve ongoing maintenance issues including leaking roofs, poor drainage and flooding

Our school is 480 families strong and together with our signatures we can make a really strong case for investment in our children and our community.
