Prayer

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen
The month of May is traditionally dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Catholic Church, a devotion that grew from medieval traditions to a widespread celebration in the 19th century. In May Christians are invited to offer more prayers asking for God’s mercy and blessings of peace upon the world. It is a time for special devotions, pilgrimages, and prayers, such as the Rosary, aimed at honoring Mary as the Mother of God, not worshipping her. It is through Mary’s intercession that believers can receive “an abundance of God’s merciful gifts” (Pope Paul VI).
The KCC Chapel Program is continuing during this term. Our chaplain Fr Neil Hernandez from St Michael’s Cathedral parish and Deacon Saxon Onions and Gerard Letchford from Vianney College have been instrumental in providing this opportunity for our students. The religion classes scheduled during Wednesday and Thursday morning have participated in these visits to the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, Mt Erin. The students and teachers are invited to consider the community connection this place provides as well as the opportunity for faith formation, silent time together with prayer and worship and giving students an opportunity to integrate faith with daily school life.
