Term 2 has started with some wonderful activities that support our students with their physical and mental wellbeing - Swimming lessons, House Cross Country (3-6), Gymnastics Incursions, Smile Squad Dental Van, and Dr Cranky's Bicycle Hospital.
Later in the term we will have a whole school incursion - theatre production focusing on being a good friend and citizen.

Smile Squad has been set up in the Wellbeing Hub throughout weeks 2 and 3. Many students from Foundation to Year 6 have visited Smile Squad. They have spoken positively about their experiences. Charlotte from 1/2C even made a card for the dentist she met. If your child was seen by the dental staff over this visit, they will receive a follow up / Fluoride treatment visit in approximately 6 months.
We are very fortunate to get regular visits from this free service.

Lunchtime clubs will begin again next week. The following clubs will be open from 1.45pm - 2.15pm in the Wellbeing Hub - Colouring, Beading, Puzzles & Board games, and Watercolour. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to share skills, try a new activity and interact with students from different year levels.

Are you tired of getting one word answers from your child about their day at school?
Get children talking about their day by asking specific, open-ended questions rather than "How was your day?" Focus on emotions, social interactions, and specific highlights, such as "What was the best part of your day?", "Who made you smile today?", or asking for a "1-10 rating" of their day. Try talking to them during low-pressure moments like driving or sharing snacks.
A different way to start the conversation is to ask who in the class did something great. This line of questioning takes the focus away from them and gets them thinking about their friends and classmates.
Thank you to the families who engaged in this survey last term - we had a very even spread of families from Foundation to Year 6. I would like to invite families who did not participate in this survey last term to take up the opportunity. The information provided supports us to identify wellbeing and mental health priorities within the school.
Over the next few weeks in my role as Mental Health and Wellbeing leader, I will conduct short surveys to gain an insight into what students and teachers feel they need to learn more about in the Wellbeing space. This will guide the planning for extra lessons, incursions, and professional learning for teachers. We are all working together to ensure positive mental health and wellbeing for all.

Mother's Day is an annual reminder to say thanks to our mum, or other motherly figure, who plays an important role in our lives. It began as a simple tradition to honour all mothers, living and deceased.
It is a day to express our gratitude and love towards the women who have dedicated their time, energy, and love to raise and support us. Whether it's a simple gesture like a card, a bunch of flowers, or a heartfelt message, Mother's Day is an opportunity to show our mothers how much we cherish and admire them. It's a time to reflect on the love, sacrifices, and unwavering support that our mothers provide unconditionally.
Thanks for all your support of your children and the school.
