🏫 Classroom Entry and Start of Day

School resumes on Wednesday 28th January. Parents and carers are welcome to come into the classroom briefly on the first morning to help their child settle. We kindly ask that goodbyes are kept short so teachers can begin the school day smoothly and establish morning routines.

Please ensure students bring their named school supplies in the orange bag so these can be organised and prepared for the year ahead. As the start of term is often warm, students should bring a filled water bottle each day and leave their SunSmart hat at school. Please also remember to pack art smocks and library bags to support specialist lessons. Donations of tissues and wipes are always greatly appreciated!

💻 iPads

Please do not send your child to school with their iPad on the first day. Students will complete their iPad agreements at school, and families will be required to sign an Acceptable Use Agreement before devices can be used in the classroom. This process will occur during the first week of term, and students will be able to bring their fully charged iPads and headphones as of Week 2.

📘 Curriculum and Learning Focus

The first two weeks of term will focus on settling students into classroom routines, school expectations, and shared learning spaces. Students will revisit our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support expectations and practise behaviours that support a calm, safe, and respectful learning environment. Students will also participate in social and team building activities designed to help them connect with classmates and build positive relationships. Establishing these routines early supports a smooth and successful year ahead.

🌱 CBL Big Idea: Community

Our CBL focus for Term One is Community. Feeling a sense of belonging is essential for students to feel safe, settled, and ready to learn. Throughout the term, students will explore this concept through the following guiding questions:

  • What makes a community feel safe, supported, and connected?
  • What qualities make someone a positive community member?
  • How can I show leadership in both small and big ways?

These ideas link to our essential question: How can I ensure our community thrives?

Students will work towards the challenge of strengthening positive connections within the Wonga Park Primary School community.
