Congratulations Hugo!

We are proud to recognise Hugo as our Foundation Citizen of the Term. He truly embodies our school values in every aspect of his learning and behaviour. A naturally quiet member of the class, he goes about his day in a calm, thoughtful and purposeful way, showing kindness and respect in all that he does. Hugo began the year as a reserved learner, taking his time to settle in, and has grown beautifully in confidence as the year has progressed. Now, he walks into the classroom each morning with a smile on his face—calm, positive, and full of confidence for the day ahead. Even on days when our classroom becomes particularly busy and noisy, Hugo remains the steady, peaceful presence we can all rely on — the calm in the storm.

Hugo is always one of the first students on the floor ready to learn, showing excellent listening skills and setting a wonderful example for his classmates. His determination and grit shine through daily—he sticks with challenges, approaches tricky tasks with resilience, and never gives up.

Hugo contributes so much to our classroom community through his actions and sense of responsibility. Each day, he takes great pride in organising the home reading tubs and handing out everyone’s home reading bags—always completed carefully, reliably, and without needing to be asked. Hugo helps keep our room tidy and organised, showing maturity beyond his years. He is a kind, gentle, and thoughtful friend who treats everyone with warmth and care.

Each week, Hugo delights us with thoughtful and engaging Show and Tell items that capture the class’s attention. He speaks with warmth about his family—his mum, dad and big brothers—and loves sharing stories of their camping adventures and visits to Halls Gap. His joy for Bluey and the creativity he puts into his Lego masterpieces always bring a spark of excitement to our classroom

Hugo truly embodies what it means to be an outstanding citizen of Ballarat North Primary School. He consistently shows care in his actions, treats others with respect, aims high in his learning, and builds a strong sense of community by including others. We are delighted to present Hugo with the Foundation Citizen of the Term Award.

Congratulations Dylan!

Today, it is my pleasure to present the Citizen of the Term award to a student who consistently demonstrates what it means to live our school values of care, respect, excellence, and community. This award is not about one moment or one achievement—it is about the way a student carries themselves every day, and Dylan is a perfect example of this.

From the moment Dylan walks into the classroom, he brings a sense of warmth, humour and friendliness. His natural friendliness encourages others to feel comfortable and supported, helping our classroom grow into a positive and inclusive environment.

Dylan is always willing to help others, and he does so in a thoughtful, respectful way. His kindness isn’t loud or showy—it’s genuine, consistent, and deeply appreciated by both his peers and his teachers. One of Dylan’s standout qualities is his initiative. He doesn’t wait to be told what needs to be done. Instead, he looks around, recognises what will help the team, and gets to work. This might be organising resources, checking instructions, or making sure a classmate understands the learning task. His willingness to contribute makes him a reliable and valued member of our community.

In his learning, Dylan always aims high. He takes pride in setting personal learning goals and works hard to achieve them. He approaches challenges with determination and a positive mindset, showing that learning isn’t just about getting things right—it’s about growth, effort, and being open to improvement. His focus and dedication set an incredible example for his classmates. He creates a sense of joy in the learning space, making it a place where others feel motivated to try their best.

For his kindness, his leadership, his hard work, and his outstanding attitude, we are incredibly proud to recognise Dylan as our Citizen of the Term.

Congratulations, Dylan. You make our classroom better every single day, and we are grateful for everything you bring to our school community.

Congratulations Isla

It is with great pleasure that we get to announce that the term 4 citizen of the term for 5/6 is Isla.

Isla is known for her warm smile, friendly nature, and the enthusiasm she brings wherever she goes. She not only brightens our classroom, but the whole school with her eagerness to learn.

Isla shows care in our classroom by making sure everyone feels included. She looks out for others and is usually one of the first to inform us when someone needs some help. Isla always volunteers to help with any job in the classroom, especially those that assist her teachers in any way. Her kindness sets the tone for those around her and makes everyone who enters the room feel welcome.

Isla treats both teachers and her peers with genuine consideration. She listens attentively to what they have to say and shows an appreciation for the ideas and feelings of others, especially during our circle times. This helps others in our room to feel valued and supported by Isla and other members of the class.

Excellence is demonstrated by Isla in her strong drive to learn and improve. She puts her best effort into everything she does, approaches challenges with determination, and continues to grow through hard work and curiosity.

And finally, Isla participates with enthusiasm in sports teams and school activities, always contributing positively and encouraging those around her. She understands that being part of a team means supporting one another—and she does this naturally. This was demonstrated recently with her inclusion in the “Stand Up Program” leadership team. Isla has taken on her role in this team with great enthusiasm and willingness to learn more about how she can develop her leadership skills to help improve the school.

Isla, thank you for being a role model of positivity, kindness, and dedication. You make our school a better place, simply by being you.

Congratulations, Isla—you truly deserve this award
