Swimming Carnival 2026
Our Years 7, 11 and 12 students are having a fantastic day at the Swimming Carnival, bringing the energy, the house spirit and plenty of impressive performances in the pool.
From competitive races to loud cheer squads and a great atmosphere all round, it’s been awesome to see students getting involved and supporting one another.
Year 7 Science – Earth and Space
In Year 7 Science, students are currently exploring the Earth and Space unit, with a specific focus on understanding the phases of the Moon. Through this unit, students are developing their scientific knowledge of how the Moon’s movement and position relative to the Earth and Sun influences the different phases we observe.
This learning supports students to build key inquiry skills, make observations, and deepen their understanding of astronomical phenomena that shape our world.
QUT’s Creating Impact: Building Your Future
Mrs McDaniel attended QUT’s Creating Impact: Building Your Future event today alongside the School Captains.
Throughout the day, students are engaging in networking opportunities with fellow student leaders while exploring the skills and mindsets needed to shape future pathways with purpose and impact. The program highlights key entrepreneurial mindsets—Curiosity, Connections and Creating Value—supporting students to broaden their thinking, engage meaningfully with peers, and reflect on how they can lead with intention both now and beyond school.
The students are having a fantastic time and making the most of this exciting opportunity 🤩

Introducing our new Chaplain: Elijah Moore
Hey Balmoral!
My name is Elijah Moore, and I am pleased to be joining Balmoral State High School as the new Chaplain. I have played soccer competitively for over 10 years and continue to have a strong passion for sport, adventure, and active involvement in school life.
I am committed to supporting student wellbeing, building positive and respectful relationships, and being an approachable and consistent presence within the school community. I will be on campus on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and I am very much looking forward to the year ahead and getting to know the students at Balmoral State High School.
