Students will begin the year exploring a class novel, which Reading, Writing, Grammar, Phonics and Spelling will be centred around. Students will investigate the use of nouns, verbs, adjectives and other more complex word types to develop their vocabulary and quality of writing. 

There will be elements of persuasive, creative and letter writing included throughout the term. Ensuring students are completing set reading tasks at home is important for the development of students’ knowledge relating to the learning tasks during the English block each day.
