Year 12 – Class of 2026
The year began with our Year 12 students attending Study Camp, an important opportunity to set the tone for their final year. While on camp, students toured The University of Melbourne and attended an information session to broaden their understanding of tertiary pathways. They also participated in sessions led by our Pathways and Careers team, designed to equip them with strategies for success in 2026.
We were also fortunate to welcome two of last year’s high-achieving graduates, who participated in a panel discussion and shared practical advice on how to thrive in Year 12. Our students engaged thoughtfully, asking insightful questions and gaining valuable first-hand perspectives.
Year 12 students have now completed their Career Action Plans (available via Compass) and are currently booking individual appointments with our Career Counsellors to refine their post-school plans. We look forward to celebrating their achievements this time next year.
Year 10 – Work Experience Preparation
During Connect classes, Year 10 students are completing a three-lesson module focused on Work Experience.
This program helps students understand the value of workplace learning, explore industries and career pathways, and prepare to secure a placement. Work Experience is a vital step in building confidence, developing employability skills, and making informed decisions about future study and career options.
We strongly encourage families to support students by leveraging personal and community networks to identify potential placements. If any parents, guardians, or community members are willing to host a student, please contact 7918-WorkExperience@schools.vic.edu.au.
Year 9 – Exploring Future Pathways
Year 9 is an important transition year as students begin thinking more seriously about future pathways.
Next week, students with parent consent will complete the online Morrisby assessment, a valuable tool that identifies strengths, interests and potential career directions. In Term 2, each participating student will receive a 30-minute individual feedback session with a trained Morrisby consultant to unpack their results.
Additionally, next term Year 9 students will have the opportunity to apply to accelerate into a Year 11 VCE subject as part of their Year 10 program. Applications are assessed against clear criteria, including Semester One academic results and learning behaviours, to ensure students are well prepared for the challenge. Further information will be shared via Compass.
For any questions regarding Morrisby or early commencement VCE, please contact Nicole Wilson at Nicole.wilson3@education.vic.gov.au.
