Over the year, certain students have produced some excellent work in their individual learning areas. The students who have been chosen for these awards tonight have shown dedication at an exceptional level.

In the Food Technology area, the recipient of this year’s award consistently strives for excellence in both their theoretical understanding and practical skills. They actively challenge themselves to deepen their knowledge and refine their abilities. Their dedication to helping others and volunteering their time further exemplifies their commitment.

The Linto, Doelle, Robinson, Bourne, and McDonnell families and all our families who have helped out over the years in many ways. I would also like to acknowledge a few students who have helped out during holidays and weekends just by keeping an eye on our small flock. Namely Lilly Schapel, Holly Mayne, Chloe Dubois and Ruby Caldow.

No doubt 2025 will be a year gladly forgotten by many of our farming families in the district. The lack of rain was disappointing, however it did prove to be an invaluable learning experience.

Yes. Feeding stock is time consuming, monotonous and expensive but it is a task that cannot be put off, avoided, or wait for another day.

It was the display of perseverance, resilience and patience throughout this testing season that the Agriculture Award this year is awarded to Isabel Bourne.
