From the Deputy

This week, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus has been Respecting Property.
Throughout the week, students have been encouraged to show gratitude for the resources that support their learning, whether these are provided by their families or the school. From books, pens and calculators to laptops, furniture and classrooms, every resource represents an investment in our students' education.
During assembly, students took part in an interactive activity that encouraged them to think about the impact of damaging school property. We discussed how books, desks, chairs and equipment are shared by everyone in our school community. Students learned that when these items are damaged, money that could be spent on learning resources, activities and improvements for students must instead be used to replace or repair them.
We have also talked about the importance of taking pride in our belongings, looking after school property, and being organised so that students are ready to learn each day. Students were asked to think about a simple question: If every student treated school property the way I do, what would our school look like in a month? This led to some valuable reflection about how our choices affect others.
These skills help create a positive learning environment and build responsibility, respect and pride. They are important habits that will benefit students both at school and in the future.
We appreciate the support of our families in reinforcing these messages at home. By working together, we can help our young people develop habits of gratitude, responsibility and respect for their own belongings and the resources shared by our school community.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support.
A Wealth of Opportunities
Once again, we have had an extraordinary week of opportunities for our students. Year 9 students participated in Industry Tours organised by Miss Moorby, providing valuable insights into future career pathways. Students also enjoyed a Hilltops Council Author Visit, supported by Mrs Crokett and Mrs Cusack, which fostered a love of reading and writing.
Our senior student leaders, accompanied by Mr Jones, represented the school at a Youth Forum, our infant students were enlightened by a Fire Talk and our students will represent the school at Southern Touch today, supported by our dedicated staff who continue to provide outstanding sporting opportunities for our students.
Thank you to all staff involved in organising and supporting these experiences. Opportunities such as these enrich our students' learning and help them develop the skills, confidence and connections needed for success beyond the classroom.
