Celebrating Public Education
What a wonderful week of celebrating public education at Edgeworth Public School! We have had the opportunity to recognise our students, celebrate our dedicated staff and strengthen the partnerships we share with our families and community.
Our Book Week Parade brought our school to life with colourful costumes, creative characters and a shared love of reading. It was wonderful to see the imagination and enthusiasm of our students and staff.
As part of Public Education Week, our Open Classrooms morning welcomed families into classrooms to learn alongside their children. Exploring characterisation together and sharing a picnic lunch highlighted the importance of strong home-school partnerships.
We also celebrated excellence at the Glendale Education Alliance Assembly, recognising the achievements of our students and staff. A special congratulations to Mrs Laura Lewis, recipient of the Teacher Recognition Award, for her outstanding leadership, support for Aboriginal education and unwavering commitment to public education.
Together, these celebrations showcase the value and transformative power of public education. Thank you to our students, staff, families and community for helping make Edgeworth Public School such a wonderful place to learn, grow and belong.
Important Message to Our Community
Last week, there was an incident involving high school students on primary school grounds. In response, the school principals have made some important decisions to help keep everyone safe and respectful.
Please note the following:
- High school students are not permitted to enter the grounds of any primary school at any time, unless they are accompanied and supervised by a parent or carer.
- If you need to pick up a brother, sister, or family member from Edgeworth Public School or another primary school, you must wait outside the school fence and arrange to meet them there. Please do not enter the primary school grounds.
- The Edgeworth Public School buses are strictly for primary school students only. High school students are not permitted to use this bus service.
We ask all students to respect these rules to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our school communities.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Year 6 Fun Day – Celebrating Our Year 6 Students
Our Year 6 students truly demonstrated exceptional leadership, organisation, teamwork, and communication as they planned, prepared, and led a fantastic range of activities for everyone to enjoy. From creative challenges and exciting games to fun team activities, their initiative and creativity shone through in every event. It was inspiring to see them confidently take on leadership roles, collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and support one another throughout the day.
A heartfelt thank you to the parents and carers who supported their children behind the scenes, helping them get organised and ready. The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and fun, showcasing the positive energy and enthusiasm our students bring to everything they do.
Congratulations to all Year 6 students for their effort, creativity, and commitment. You should be incredibly proud of your leadership and contribution to such a memorable and successful day.
