Year 7 News

Year 7 have made a wonderful start to Semester Two, settling into their new timetables with enthusiasm and continuing to build on the confidence, friendships and learning habits developed throughout their first semester of high school. 

At the end of Term 2, students participated in a range of NAIDOC Week activities, celebrating and learning more about Australia’s First Nations histories and cultures. Students explored the cultural significance of Australian animals and engaged with First Nations artwork and storytelling, developing a greater appreciation of the rich histories, cultures and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This term, students have also completed their Check-in Assessment, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and helping teachers identify areas for continued growth. There is also plenty to look forward to, with Year 7 heading to the zoo in Week 9 as part of their Science curriculum. This will be a fantastic opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom and make connections with what they have been learning in Science.

We encourage all Year 7 students to continue challenging themselves, embracing new opportunities and supporting one another throughout Semester Two. They have come a long way since beginning high school, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow in confidence, independence and enthusiasm throughout the remainder of the year.
