Wellbeing at McC

Wellbeing Services has been busy providing students with preventative and early-intervention education in 2025. Leading service providers and organisations like Headspace, Windana, Sexual Health Victoria, The Man Cave, The Flourish Journey, Project Rockit, Butterfly Foundation, SmackTalk and the Australian Dental Foundation have provided students with engaging workshops on topics such as:
- Emotional literacy
- Confidence, resilience and leadership
- Positive body image
- Mental health and challenging gender stereotypes
- Alcohol & Other Drugs – “understanding addiction”
- Identifying & supporting a person with suicidal thoughts
There are lots of events still coming in terms 3 & 4, including workshops on bullying prevention, mental health literacy and more.
Events held in Semester 1 were:
- Y7: Headspace – Emotional Literacy
- Y9, Y10, Y11 VM, Y12 VM: Windana - Drug & Alcohol workshop – addiction
- Y7, Y8, Y9, Y11 VM, Y12 VM: SmackTalk – Identifying and supporting a person who is having suicidal thoughts.
- Y8: Sexual Health Victoria: Menstrual Health & Pelvic Pain
- Y8: Man Cave (Level 1) - Level 1 - emotional literacy, mental health and interpersonal relationships for young men.
- Y8: Flourish Journey (Level 2) - resilience, fostering empowerment & confidence for young women.
- Y8 & Y9: Butterfly Foundation: positive body image
- Year 11 VCE and Year 11 & 12 VM: Project Rockit "Level Up" - confidence, resilience, leadership, decision making
- All students: Australian Dental Foundation – van onsite
