School Cross Country

Congratulations to all students who demonstrated enthusiasm and determination by participating in the School House Cross Country event. It was a vibrant and enjoyable morning, marked by a strong sense of community spirit. It was inspiring to see students encouraging one another and embracing the challenge. A special commendation goes to those who qualified for the District level—well done on your outstanding achievement.

Peace Day Activities.

A Peace Pole is a globally recognised symbol representing the shared hopes and dreams of humanity, standing as a silent prayer for peace on Earth. With over 250,000 Peace Poles around the world, they serve as powerful monuments to peace in every country.

On Friday, 23rd May, Bittern Primary School held a special ceremony to celebrate the inclusion of our very own Peace Pole. This meaningful addition to our school grounds symbolizes our commitment to fostering peace, kindness, and unity within our community. As part of the celebration, students engaged in a variety of classroom activities focused on the theme of peace, reflecting on what it means to be a positive influence in the world around them.

National simultaneous story time

On Wednesday, Bittern Primary School participated in National Simultaneous Story time, joining thousands of students across Australia in reading this year’s featured book, The Truck Cat by Deborah Niland. This heartwarming story about a stray cat who finds friendship and adventure on the road captivated students of all ages. The event encouraged a love of reading and brought our school community together through a shared storytelling experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate books, literacy, and the joy of reading.

As part of the celebration, we were delighted to welcome Celeste from the Hastings Library, who joined us to read The Truck Cat to our students. Her engaging storytelling brought the book to life and added a special touch to the event. Following the reading, Celeste led a fun and creative craft activity where students used paper plates to make their very own cats inspired by the story. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that sparked imagination and deepened the students’ connection to the book.

Mothers Day Craft

I hope everyone enjoyed Mothers Day. Students enjoyed making their crafts and selecting gifts from our stall.
