While many teams missed out on playing due to the wild weather last week, the teams that were able to take the field certainly made it count. In a top of the table clash, our First XI had a huge 5 goals-nil victory over Oakhill College who were undefeated heading into the clash. Our Seventh XI had a 2-1 victory over Chevalier College’s Second XI which demonstrates the depth and strength of SPC Opens Football. The only Senior School home game on SPC 2 was our 13 D Team taking on St Spyridon’s 13 A Team. The 13 D boys demonstrated huge resilience, skill and commitment in a well-matched fixture where the teams could not be separated in a 1-all draw, which again shows the depth and strength of SPC Football. Well done to all of our Football teams.
While many of the results did not go our way in Tennis this week, given the wet weather during the week, the Tennis squads were very fortunate to be able to play and will be better for the run. Our First IV were not strong enough for Redlands School on this occasion, a special mention to the Fourth and Seventh IV who managed to pick up victories over Redlands and Chevalier College. Best of luck to all SPC Tennis teams this weekend as they take on Oakhill College.
Well done to Jack Taylor who competed last Thursday competed in the 100m Freestyle at NSW All Schools Swimming Championships. Jack placed fourth in the race, which is an incredible achievement and a fantastic way to finish as a high school swimmer. Well done Jack, you have set a very high standard at SPC, and your records will live on for many years to come!
Best of luck to all our Cross Country runners who will be competing this week at the ISA Cross Country Championships. I am sure that all your early morning training will pay off and be worthwhile at the completion of your races!
All students are to arrive AT LEAST 30 minutes before their game is scheduled to start.
