Welcome to another edition of Eyes on VET!
Year 10 students have just completed their exams this week, and I hope all students did well. I am sure that the VET Connect applicants will be looking forward to receiving their outcome letters on Monday. I am certainly excited to have them delivered!
It has been nice to see the Year 11 and 12 VET Connect and P2C students back at school after the exam-free period. Well done to all students who showed commitment to their workplace and/or external courses during this period, with excellent attendance during this time.
VET students have had a very rewarding Semester 1, and it was a pleasure writing their report comments for their external courses and Workplace Learning after seeing their wonderful achievements to date.
At a recent South Metro TAFE Forum held at their Bentley Campus, information was provided about course offerings for 2026. SM TAFE’s students undertaking a Certificate II in Cookery Pre-Apprenticeship catered for attendees, and it was lovely to see our Year 11 VET Connect student Sonia Longman serving at the event.
I hope all students enjoy their final three weeks of the term.
Spotlight on Mount Pleasant College and their Upcoming Information Night
Mount Pleasant College (MPC) is the only Registered Training Organisation in WA specialising in the Creative Arts. They offer Certificate III and IV courses in:
Game Design and Animation
Graphic Design
Music
Screen and Media
Sound Production
MPC are running an information night on Thursday 26 June. It would be worthwhile for students to meet and chat with their experienced lecturers, explore their state-of-the-art facilities, and have the opportunity to learn more about Music, Sound Production, Graphic Design, Media, Game Design, Animation and Screen and Media courses available in 2026.
