Term Highlights - Fun Projects, New Faces and Lots of Creativity!
Wow – what a fantastic term it’s been so far! Our students have been busy bringing their creativity to life through hands-on projects, learning new skills and working together to make some amazing things happen. From welcoming new Year 8’s to building, painting, planting and crafting, there’s been no shortage of excitement. Let’s dive into the fun!
Welcoming the New Year 8’s!
A big shout-out to our brand new Year 8 students who’ve joined the Hands-On Learning family this term! They’ve jumped straight into the action, bringing fresh energy and new ideas to all our projects. We can’t wait to see what these awesome students will create as they continue to grow in the program.
Mothers’ Day Café Lattices
What do lattices, creativity and Mother’s Day have in common? A whole lot of teamwork! Our students built the sturdy supports for the lattices that were used in our school’s Mother’s Day Lunch in the Café. The Café, which was open to the public, looked fantastic thanks to their hard work and the event was a beautiful celebration of mums everywhere. Great job, team!
Gym Renovation
Things are really starting to take shape in the gym! Our Hands-On Learning crew has been working hard, painting, laying and cutting the mat for the upcoming gym makeover. It’s looking fantastic and we can’t wait to see it all come together!
DIY Mother’s Day Gifts
What better way to celebrate mums than with a personal, handmade gift? Our students got creative and crafted their own Mother’s Day gifts. From custom paintings to wooden creations, each gift was unique and made with love.
Door Frame for Drama Department
Our students built a super cool, mobile door frame for the Drama Department. This rolling door adds a whole new level of flexibility to their performances and is just one example of how we’re always finding ways to support the different areas of the school.
Winter Garden
Last but not least, our green thumbs have been busy in the garden! The soil got a rejuvenation and the students planted all sorts of delicious winter crops. From crunchy lettuce and sweet carrots to fresh kale, spring onions, coriander and parsley – it’s a garden that will keep on giving.
From building and creating to painting and planting, our Hands-On Learning students have been putting their skills to the test and having a blast doing it. We couldn’t be prouder of everything they’ve accomplished this term. Thanks so much for supporting our program! Stay tuned for even more awesome projects coming your way, we’ve got big plans for the rest of the term!
