Wellbeing Team News

SEMESTER 1 IS IN THE BOOKS! 📚✅
Another Semester, done and dusted!
We’re relieved, and at the same time, ready for another big one ahead!
Year 7 students are a lot more familiar with the school, Seniors have finished off their GAT, and many students have finished passed in and out of Breakfast Club, Lunchtime Clubs, and Programs, and Celebration Days.
Here’s just a few highlights of Term 1 and 2 😉
Lunch Club Previews at Year 5 Taster Days:
In early June, we had 100s of Year 5s from local Feeder Schools come down to check out HPSC! They tried their hands at Science Experiments, Sports, Cooking, and more! The Wellbeing Team ran a few lunchtime activities across the week, where the students got to test of Lego Club – a Club we run for Year 7s every week. Students unleashed their creativity, and enjoyed a chill out space away from all the craziness of their big days! Thanks for coming around and inspiring our next creative creations, Year 5s! Check out a few of their creations here!
Breakfast Club – Free Food for All, Everyday! 🍳☕️
Running for Years here at HPSC, Breakfast Club continues to serve as a place for students to connect and chat, escape the Cold Winter with the Heater, plan Sports strategies, Study for SACs and CATs, and most importantly – get fuelled up for their days of learning. With foods to match everyone’s taste, we encourage every student, from Year 7 to 12 come down to A12 everyday to help them feel and perform at their best! Toasties always taste best when enjoyed with mates – so bring your friends!
Wellbeing Team In Disguise – The Annual Careers Expo 🥸👩🏫
Last Wednesday the Wellbeing Team went Houdini and came to the Careers Expo as one of the Stall-Holders! The Staff became guests, chatting to Senior Students and the school community about how they got involved in Youth Work, and how they also can join the Force! We were stoked to support the great work of the Careers Team to put on this incredible event, showcasing to our Young People so many of the potential places they can go in the future. Students can drop in at the Careers Corner in the library at any time to get expert advice and support in their study and future career pathways.
Our Junior Graduates 🎓🥹
The Wellbeing Team does a lot of 1 on 1 Support, but also run a variety of programs, every term!
In Semester 1, we’ve worked with many groups of Junior Students to help build their resilience, and a variety of personal and social skills. We’re so proud of each of them, and have had great feedback from them and their Teachers around their growth. Some of the Programs that have graduated include:
- Girls Empowered
- Change Makers
- My FRIENDS
- SSSO Social Skills Group
- Sporting Change
A Massive Congratulations to you all! As always, we can't wait to see where you go and how you grow with these skills!
