Our ELC students attended the Wurun Cultural Day event, where they enjoyed a celebration of diversity. From colourful parades to cultural performances organised by students, the day was filled with curiosity, laughter, and cultural exchange. Students enjoyed observing how different countries express their identities and saw how diversity is embraced and valued in our school community.
On Sunday, our after-school Korean class had an amazing time at the Korea Festival, celebrating Korean culture, traditions, and of course—delicious food! Students enjoyed a variety of performances, from traditional music and dance to a K-pop dance competition.
They explored cultural booths, tried tasty street food, played traditional games (and even won some prizes!), and got to wear hanbok—traditional Korean clothing. Some students were even asked to pose for photos by event visitors and a staff member from the Consulate General of Korea, which was very exciting!
A highlight of the day was joining in the Squid Game “Red Light, Green Light” challenge—not just with the iconic giant Younghee doll, but also with a real-life “Younghee”… me! Luckily, we all survived and had such a fun time.
Our ELC students had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens on an outdoor learning adventure. After collecting maps, they set off on an exciting mission to solve 12 clues hidden throughout the gardens. Some of the questions were challenging, but students showed persistence and teamwork. Along the way, they discovered new English vocabulary and learned about the heritage features of the gardens. It was a fun and meaningful way to connect language learning with real-world experiences.
