PREP NEWS

Prep update-

We have been very busy since our last newsletter.

After recognising Reconciliation week each grade was asked to write their own acknowledgement of Country. Over the next two terms each grade in our school will read their acknowledgements in assembly. Prep AY volunteered to be first and did an outstanding job.

You may see in our Junior Hall that the children have had their feet traced and coloured one foot in Australian flag colours and the other foot in Indigenous flag colours. The words, “We walk together” are displayed above.

Our Safety unit continues, and last week we had Pam and her dog Clover visit us from Pets Victoria. She talked with the children about what to do if an angry dog approaches you and how to ask an owner if you can pat their dog.

This week we are excited to have our second session with the Fire Brigade bringing their truck to school.

In our classroom we are reading stories and the children are drawing pictures of what happens at the Beginning, Middle and End. We continue to work on “teen” numbers, making, copying and describing patterns in number, colour and shape.

The Grade 5 Life Programme is a highlight for our children, enjoying the various activities the Grade 5 students organise.

Two more weeks of Mindfulness Yoga and then we start a fantastic Gymnastics programme organised by Mr Malysiak, our PE teacher.
