Public School Student Survey
Starting next week (Week 7) our school is taking part in the NSW Public Schools Student Survey. The survey is being conducted by the NSW Department of Education (the department) and invites students to provide valuable feedback on what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. Students in Years 3-12 will spend 10-15 minutes completing this survey in their classes. Students will use school devices and will complete the survey across Weeks 7-9 of Term 2.
Information from this survey will provide our staff with valuable information to ensure students are known, valued and cared for in a safe and respectful learning environment.
If you do not wish your child to participate please contact the office.

Year 8 Tech
Students in Year 8 technology have been focusing on the Australian Dairy industry and the dairy food group. In theory lessons students have learnt about how dairy products are made, as well as what a day in the life of a dairy farmer looks like. Students utilised their ICT skills and made their own dairy farms using Minecraft for Education. In practical lessons students enjoyed designing and making their own delicious smoothies and most of all drinking them in the sunshine!
Stage 5 Child Studies
Students in Stage 5 Child Studies submitted excellent assessment tasks where they researched, designed and constructed a toy for a child. All students are to be commended on their creativity. Keep an eye out on what they achieve with their current project of creating a sensory board for children with diverse needs.
Year 7 PDHPE
Students in Year 7 PDHPE were rewarded for excellent behaviour in practical lessons with a games lesson. In small teams students worked together to create a castle. They then took turns in playing to see who could knock down the castle first! Keep up the great work Year 7!
Year 11 Hospitality
On the menu this week is Tandoori wraps, Club Sandwiches and Pesto Chicken and Bacon Melt. This practical lesson focuses on students' ability to multitask, work effectively with group members and communicate with the customer to ensure all sandwiches were delivered to customers within a reasonable time frame.
Stage 5 Food Technology
Some delicious healthy items are being cooked as part of the Food Selection and Health unit. Students cooked flourless brownies that used coconut sugar, dark chocolate and yoghurt as alternatives to the usual caster sugar and egg combination. To accompany this students prepared a gourmet steak sandwich which was a hit with both students and staff alike. Well done to all students who continue to show significant skills development when preparing foods.
2025 Boorowa Central School partaking in the Push-Up Challenge
Boorowa Central School is proudly taking part in The Push-Up Challenge 2025 - A national event running from June 4th to June 26th that aims to raise critical awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. Over this period, our school community is working together to complete 1,607 push-ups, a number that represents the lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022.
But this challenge goes beyond just doing push-ups. It’s about sparking meaningful conversations and encouraging students, staff, and the wider community to engage with mental health in a practical, visible, and supportive way.
Each day, students and staff have a set goal to work towards as an aim, which also contributes to our school’s total. These daily targets are linked to real mental health statistics, helping us understand why this cause matters so deeply. To ensure everyone can take part, we’re promoting inclusivity and accessibility, whether it's traditional push-ups, wall push-ups, sit-ups, star-jumps, or any other form of movement, everyone is encouraged to get involved in a way that works for them.
Leading the charge are our BCS Push-Up Challenge ambassadors, Lila and Sam , who will be on the oval from 2:00 pm to 2:20 pm every Monday to Friday (Thursdays during recess) helping students log their push-ups and, most importantly, keeping the experience fun and positive.
The Push-Up Challenge gives us a powerful opportunity to come together, move our bodies, and support those who may be doing it tough. Along the way, we’re raising funds for essential mental health organisations, including Lifeline, Movember, and the Push for Better Foundation.
We strongly encourage our families, friends, and the wider community to get behind our efforts by making a donation via our school’s team page. Every contribution, big or small, supports life-changing mental health services and helps create a future where mental health is openly discussed and properly supported.

Let’s push for better together — for ourselves, for each other, and for mental health.
Thank you
