Emmanuel College
The Wizard of Oz Dazzles and Delights 🎭Last week’s production of The Wizard of Oz was a vibrant, magical celebration of talent and teamwork. Over 600 primary school students were treated to two energetic matinee performances, while more than 900 audience members packed the evening shows, all captivated by the spectacular journey to Oz. Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Lion—alongside a brilliant cast—delivered a performance full of fabulous singing, heartfelt acting, and enchanting music. The production was a true showcase of creativity, commitment, and joy. It was especially heartwarming to see students from all year levels collaborating, supporting one another, and, most importantly, having fun.
A huge congratulations and thank you to the dedicated students and staff who devoted months to perfecting lines, rehearsing music, crafting costumes and makeup, building and setting the stage and bringing this timeless story to life. Snapshots of behind the scenes, rehearsals and the show will be featured in upcoming editions of the latest College news, celebrating the incredible talent and spirit of The Wizard of Oz team.
Our learning and teaching programs provide a curriculum that is challenging, ever-changing and suited to the needs of each student. We utilise appropriate technology and engaging learning experiences to assist students in achieving their personal best. The sewing room is buzzing with energy—a vibrant mix of cutting, pinning, stitching, and creativity. Textiles classes are in full swing this term and our students have proudly completed their hand-sewing projects, which included creating a colourful puppet and a quirky scrappy monster. They are now moving on to mastering the safe use of sewing machines, with new projects such as a pencil roll and a stylish tote bag. Adding an eco-friendly touch, students are repurposing old clothing to craft their creations. Exciting times indeed.
