I am delighted to announce that five of our Junior School students have been selected to represent East Adelaide at the upcoming SAPSASA State Netball Carnival. Impressively, all the students who trialled from Loreto were selected. This is an outstanding achievement that reflects the strength and quality of our netball program. Congratulations to the following students:
We wish them all the best as they prepare to compete and represent both East Adelaide and Loreto College with pride.
Our new Mid-Year Reception students have experienced a wonderful transition in recent weeks. The program is designed to create a nurturing and supportive environment. We began the first transition with a special welcome liturgy and morning tea for all the families. The liturgy was led by our current the Reception girls. Each child was presented with a Loreto Teddy bear. Through the Reception Transition Program, we aspire to support all girls and their families in feeling connected to Loreto College and developing a sense of belonging and community.
We are thrilled to announce that our Year 5 students will be performing Alice in Wonderland JR. the musical, in week 9 of this term. This performance is based on the 1951 Disney film and will be held in the Loreto College Marryatville, St Anne’s Performing Arts Centre.
We feel incredibly fortunate to present this musical to the Loreto school community. The girls have been working diligently since the beginning of the year to bring this amazing production to life.

The Micklegate Library has been a buzz of activity over the past few weeks with the Scholastic Book Fair. This event gave students the chance to purchase some of their favourite books and fun stationery items. Proceeds from the Book Fair will go towards expanding our general library collection, as well as additional resources to support teaching and learning across the Junior School.
Our Junior School Library is open every morning (except Fridays), offering students a quiet and welcoming space to explore and enjoy. During lunchtimes, students are invited to participate in a variety of activities, including craft, construction, games, and of course, reading.
Due to the popularity of the library at lunchtimes, we have allocated specific days for year levels. However, if your daughter is seeking a quiet and calm space during lunchtime, she is always welcome in the library.
The Junior School Book Week Parade will be held on Tuesday 19 August in the Brigid Jones Gymnasium. More information will be communicated closer to the event.

Last week, our Year 4 students had the exciting opportunity to visit Parliament House as part of their HASS Civics unit exploring Local and State Government.
We were fortunate to be guided by the Hon. Heidi Girolamo MLC, who gave our students a behind-the-scenes look at how our democracy works. It was an inspiring and educational experience that brought their classroom learning to life.
