Boarding Life

Celebrating Where We Come From

Recently in the Boarding House, we launched a new Regional Awareness and Promotion program, designed to celebrate the diverse backgrounds of our Boarding community and build pride, connection, and fun among our girls.

Each fortnight, a different regional group is invited to host dinner. The group organises and runs a short activity to share something about where they’re from. These might include a Kahoot quiz, mini-presentation, fun facts, or a short video—simple, engaging ways to help everyone learn more about the places they call home.

So far, we’ve been treated to wonderful presentations from our International Girls and our Eyre Peninsula group, each bringing their own stories, traditions, and personality to the evening.

As part of Boarders' Week earlier this term, our girls also created posters showcasing their hometowns and cities. These now take pride of place in the Dining Hall—another warm reminder that home is never too far away.

This program is all about honouring where our boarders come from, giving them space to share their stories, and helping our whole community grow in connection and understanding.
