School Saving Bonus reminder and allocation to school activities
Thanks for your patience as we navigate the SSB. We are beginning to work through allocating SSB (School Saving Bonus) off charges including camps, sport and excursions. If you have not been onto the portal and set your SSB to go through to activities, could you please complete that step. We'll be contacting families that haven't completed this step in the next few weeks as we can't allocate unless that step has been completed by you.
Once SSB has been set to activities in the portal it will come across into our finance system where we can then allocate the outstanding charges. If you have already set the portal to uniforms or part to uniforms and didn't use it this will not be accessible to allocate until the department completes their transactions behind the scenes, which could take a few months.
IMPORTANT:
Once we begin allocating, we will take SSB off camps first, then sport, excursions, STOMP and any other activities. We are able to use other siblings SSB, but we will make contact first before we do this. IF you do not want us to automatically allocate you will need to ring the office to let us know. Allocations cannot be reversed easily.
The Department of Education’s SSB contact centre will remain available until 30 June 2025. The contact centre can be reached by:
- completing the School Saving Bonus enquiry form
- calling 1800 338 663, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on weekdays.
After this date, please contact our administration team for any SSB related questions.
If you have any queries around this and we understand it is complicated, please contact the office. Again, thanks for your patience.
Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund
The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.
If you have a valid means-tested concession card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. Means-tested concession cards must be valid on the first day of Term 1, 2025 (Tuesday 28 January 2025) or Term 2, 2025 (Tuesday 22 April 2025).
A student aged 16 years and over who is considered a mature minor and holds a valid concession card is also eligible to apply.
Eligible families will receive a payment of $154 per year for primary school students. The funds will be paid directly to the school to be used towards camps, sports and excursion costs for the benefit of your child.
If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.
If you would like to apply for the first time, please contact the school office on 5255 1340 and ask for an application form. Please return completed application forms to the school office as soon as possible.
