Senior School Concert

Hello everyone 🙂
Well, what a brilliant day on Monday at our Senior school concert. We kicked off with the incredible kids of the New Generation school band. They absolutely smashed their 4 songs and I couldn’t be more proud of them. With sweet vocal performances by all 5 of our singers, Maya Boicos, Leni Johnson, April Briody, Ava Roberts and Samara Stibbard, fabulous keyboard and bass solos thanks to Alfie McDonald, Katie Zhang and Gus McCrae, solid drumming from Ava Pobar and Nate Harrison and finding more confidence and stage presence was our guitarist Syd Hussey. Excellent job guys!
We then had our class “band” performances. Having 3 classes of students on stage at a time was a massive ask, especially for students who have only been playing their instruments for 6 weeks. We had Year 3s on the ukuleles, Year 4s on the keyboards, basses, marimbas and guitars and Year 5s on the bucket drums. Our rehearsals were super strong and I was so proud of everyone’s achievements. Nerves, excitement and adrenaline tend to speed everyone up (even professional bands) when it comes time to perform which is what happened on the day but we got through and I am so proud that everyone got up there, shook their nerves and performed! Excellent stuff!
We have two new budding stars coming up the ranks in Lani Wormsley and Mila Roberts. They performed a lovely version of Cover Me in Sunshine. Great job girls!
Then to finish off with a bang, our Stomp performances brought it home. The Year 3s performed Spark which was vibrant and uplifting and the Year 4s got groovy with Staying Alive. There was a wonderful mix of songs from the Year 5 and 6 classes which was brilliant to see.
