Grade Four

We can’t believe we are already coming towards the end of Term 2. We have had an incredibly busy few weeks in Grade 4 with Life Ed, swimming and our excursion to Melbourne Zoo. Students were highly engaged during our zoo visit and we all enjoyed a wonderful day. The students have loved our extra activities and have been working incredibly hard in the classroom. 

This term, our Integrated theme has been the concept of ‘Sustainability’, where students have been looking at the features and life cycles of Zoo animals as well as how Zookeepers support animal welfare. 

During our Zoo visit, students engaged in an educational session about animal enrichment. Throughout the day, students identified the various enrichments in animal enclosures and considered how they were beneficial to the animal. Upon returning to school, students were given the opportunity to choose from 4 animals. From here, they have begun the design process, planning and designing their own animal enrichment item.
