WORSHIP SERVICES AT ST PAUL 

Everyone is welcome to attend the worship service held in the Church each Sunday at 9:30am.

PENTECOST

This Sunday in the Church year is Pentecost and the end of the Easter season. Pentecost is a festival that celebrates how the Holy Spirit comes to help us to believe in God, to know him and to live as God’s children. The Bible tells of how all believers in Jesus were gathered in one place, when the sound of a rushing wind filled the room and flames touched everyone there, filling them with the Holy Spirit and the knowledge of Jesus and all his goodness and allowing them to speak in different languages.

The Holy Spirit is commonly represented in pictures as a dove (during the Baptism of Jesus, the Spirit descended like a dove) or as fire, for the flames that rested on the heads of Jesus’ disciples at Pentecost. You can see these symbols on the display above the front doors to the church.

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Held every Tuesday during term time from 9-10:30am, Playgroup @ St Paul is for children aged 0-5 and a parent/caregiver. School families are more than welcome to come across after you have done the school drop-off.  We won’t be completely set up, but you are still welcome to hang out with us.

Cost is $2 per family and your first visit is free. 

Come and check out the play space, make a craft, play with playdough, explore the sensory play space, and join in with story and song time.

This week there were bulldozers, diggers, front end loaders, cement trucks and more as we looked at Construction Vehicles.

Next week we will be looking at worms with the book ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson.

SPY - ST PAUL YOUTH 

SPY is our gathering for young people in Year 6/7/8. The next date is this Friday 6 June.

Join us in the St Paul Lutheran Church Hall, 44 Audrey Ave, Blair Athol at 7pm until 9pm, with a night of fun activities planned.

A reminder that all parents are required to come inside and register your attendance. Cost is $3 and cold drinks are available for $2 a can.

BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK

This week the Bible reading tells the story of Pentecost, where the believers of Jesus received the gift of the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit that draws us closer to God and teaches us about his love and kindness for all people.

I will pour out my Spirit on all people (Acts 2:21). 

Jesus’ love is never-ending, bigger than you can imagine, and nothing can stop him from loving you.  Ever. Jesus will love you forever.

MEALTIME PRAYER OF THE WEEK

Faithful God, you give us food when we need it. You open your hands and satisfy us with good things. Praise the Lord!  Amen.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK

Lord God, pour out your Spirit on us today, so that we may speak of the great things you have done. Amen.

BLESSING OF THE WEEK

(Child’s Name) May God pour out his Spirit upon you, so that you live boldly as his child.  Amen.

SCHOOL YEARS 4-6 CAMP MINISTRY – JC LIFE

Blueprint Ministries is the Children, Youth, Family and Young Adult ministry team within the Lutheran Church of South Australia and Northern Territory District. 

One of the things Blueprint Ministries organise are camping ministry programs for young people throughout our District.

JC Life is a camp for children in school years 4-6 and this year will be held 7-10 July at Camp Kedron, Barmera.

A combination of indoor and outdoor games, worship time, devotions and activities. Meals are provided and sleeping arrangements are in the onsite dormitories.
