RunDIPG Gala Dinner
An emotional Saturday night, at the Moonlight Charity Gala, Playford Adelaide Hotel for RunDIPG.
The event was well supported by community donations and volunteers including Loreto College and Rostrevor College senior students, parents and Loreto College musicians.
The bravery of the families who have been impacted by the deadliest childhood disease shared their personal stories and much needed money was raised.
The remarkable work of the Dun Lab, in particular the work of Dr Evangeline Jackson keynote speaker on the night who gives us all hope.
Premier Peter Malinauskas was in attendance with a heartfelt donation and pledge from the South Australian Government of 50K plus, towards medical research with the Hon Heid Girolamo MLC Shadow Minister for Education to support the RunDIPG cause.
Amazing to re-connect with Loreto old scholar Bec Lehman (Class of 2023) whose mum, Jo accomplished a staggering 50Km run fundraiser and father Jason an influential member on the board of RunDIPG and who has set her own personal goal running goal to raise much needed funds.
Our hearts are still broken with the passing of Year 7 students Ava Lynch who will always be in our memories. As a College we are celebrating Pink and Green Day in honour of Ava on the 6 June this term.
The night was a serious reminder that cancer does not discriminate - if you can give/donate/help/create awareness please do.
Christina, Darren, Helena, Charlie and Harrison our love and prayers are always with you.
Dr Phoebe Dun and all families impacted - so courageous.

Period Poverty and Kick Start for Kids
On Tuesday the Senior College hosted the Ambassadors for Kick start for Kids in our assembly. We are asking ALL students to donate sanitary items for young girls in South Australia who don’t have access to sanitary items. The special guest line up included:
Matilda Jane Scholz – Port Power AFLW
Jenna Hudson – Singer from the Voice and Social media influencer
Connie Bonaros MLC – State Politician
Ian Steel – Founder of Kick Start for Kids
Ollie Steel – Kick Start for Kids Employee
KickStart for Kids - South Australian Children's Charity
The takeaways from the assembly include:
Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive without shame or barriers. Addressing period poverty is not just a health issue—it’s an education, equity, and dignity issue. By kickstarting this initiative for kids, we're building a future where no young person is held back because of something so natural. Let's ensure every child, no matter their background, can attend school with confidence and pride.
Connie Bonaros MLC, Member of Parliament
No young girl should have to miss school or sport because she doesn't have access to something as basic as period products. Tackling period poverty means giving every kid the chance to show up, feel proud, and do what they love to do which is play sport.

FYI Education Wellbeing Workshops: Building Confident, Resilient Students
Earlier this week, our Reception to Year 4 students participated in FYI Education Wellbeing Workshops which were delivered by experienced facilitator and educator, Richard Rowland.
Tailored to different age groups, the workshops were packed with creativity and innovation.
For our Primary students, learning was brought to life with the help of “Charlie,” the Top Secret Agent Dog. Charlie, a much-loved animated character, guided the students through wellbeing lessons which included 3D films. With their “Interactive Spy Glasses” on, our young “Junior Agents” were fully immersed in each mission, watching Charlie and the storyline leap off the big screen inside an inflatable classroom.
While the workshops were engaging and fun, they also addressed important wellbeing topics in a way that was age-appropriate and easy to understand. Students explored key areas such as managing emotions, building resilience, forming healthy relationships, and staying safe online. Each session provided practical tools and strategies that students can use in their everyday lives to take care of their own wellbeing and support those around them.
These sessions complemented the work we are currently doing as part of our SEAD Program in the Junior School, reinforcing the values and skills we aim to nurture every day in the classroom and beyond. By aligning closely with our existing initiatives, the FYI sessions helped deepen students’ understanding and gave them additional ways to engage with the themes we regularly explore—such as empathy, respect, self-awareness, and responsible decision-making.
